Technical Specifications for Punch Presses

Punch presses are categorized into mechanical crank presses (the most common type), pneumatic presses, hydraulic presses, and servo precision presses. Their technical specifications fall into five main categories: core performance parameters, structural dimensions, power and electrical parameters, precision and safety parameters, and physical machine parameters. 2. Die Installation Space Dimensions

2.1 Maximum Die Height (Shut Height)

The distance from the bottom surface of the slide to the top surface of the bolster plate when the slide is at Top Dead Center (TDC); this limits the maximum overall height of the die. Typical range: 200700 mm.

2.2 Die Height Adjustment Range

Allows for fine-tuning the shut height via a screw mechanism to accommodate dies of varying heights; a larger value indicates greater versatility. Standard models: 50150 mm.

2.3 Bolster Plate Dimensions (Front-to-Back × Left-to-Right)

The effective mounting area of the bolster plate, which limits the external dimensions of the die baseplate; e.g., 25T press: 450×300 mm; 80T press: 700×450 mm.

2.4 Bolster Plate Blanking Hole

A through-hole in the center of the bolster plate for the discharge of scrap or finished parts; available in round or square configurations.

2.5 Bolster Plate Thickness

A thickened bolster plate is standard equipment to protect the table surface; thickness typically ranges from 50 to 100 mm.

2.6 Slide Bottom Dimensions

The mounting surface dimensions for the upper die fixing plate; must match the size of the upper die baseplate.

2.7 Throat Depth (Distance from slide center to inner machine frame wall)

A key parameter for C-frame (open-type) presses; greater throat depth allows for processing wider sheets but reduces off-center load rigidity. Typical range: 180450 mm.

2.8 Column Spacing (Straight-side/Closed-type Presses)

The distance between the inner faces of the columns on straight-side two-point or four-point presses; accommodates large, wide dies.
